What we do

Our core product is a free currency converter calculator covering 30 major world currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CNY, CAD, AUD, CHF, and more. The calculator loads the official daily reference rate table, keeps the newest publication in your browser until a newer one appears, and performs all conversions locally.

Beyond exchange rates, we build a family of free calculators for everyday money and health decisions: a mortgage calculator, a compound interest calculator, a TDEE calorie calculator, a BMI calculator, a percentage calculator, and more. Every calculator runs entirely in your browser.

Around the calculators, we publish original guides explaining how exchange rates actually work: how rates are set, why your bank quotes a different number than the one you see online, how transfer fees stack up, and practical strategies for travel money and international transfers. Every article is written for clarity first, with no jargon assumed.

How the tool works

The converter requests daily reference rates from the European Central Bank's official euro foreign exchange reference rates, republished through our own /api/rates endpoint, with public rate services as a fallback if that source is unavailable. Rates are published with the euro as the base currency, and cross-currency conversions such as EUR to JPY are computed by re-basing through the euro. When rates are fetched successfully, they are stored in your browser's localStorage until a newer publication date appears, so repeat visits load instantly without another request.

Amounts you type are never transmitted to us. There is no user account system, no database of user inputs, and no login. The calculation happens entirely in your browser, which is the architecture we would want as users ourselves.

Our editorial standards

Our guides are original content, written and reviewed in-house for this site. We do not publish guest posts, contributed articles, or externally supplied content, and we do not publish anything generated and left unreviewed. Every guide carries a byline with a last-reviewed date, and every guide is re-checked at least every six months.

We work from primary sources rather than secondary summaries. Reference rates come from the European Central Bank’s daily euro foreign exchange reference rates and the US Federal Reserve’s H.10 release; market size and turnover figures come from the Bank for International Settlements’ Triennial Central Bank Survey; corridor cost figures are cross-checked against the World Bank’s Remittance Prices Worldwide database. Individual guides list their own sources at the foot of the article with the date they were last checked.

When we describe typical fee ranges or historical rate behavior, we describe general patterns that consumers can verify, and we always encourage readers to compare live quotes before transacting. Where a figure is our own calculation — such as a comparison of what one payment delivers through four different routes — we say so in the article and show the method. We are deliberately conservative about claims. We do not publish rate forecasts or price targets, because the evidence that anyone can call major currency pairs reliably over useful horizons is weak, and readers lose real money acting on false confidence. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, tax, or trading advice, and we say so plainly in our disclaimer. The purpose of the content is education, so people can ask providers better questions and understand the numbers they are shown.

What we do not do

We do not accept payment to rank, feature, or favourably describe any provider, and our comparisons carry no affiliate commission. We do not sell links or placements. We do not republish material written elsewhere under our own name, and we do not pad the site with pages that exist only to attract search traffic — where two of our own articles covered the same decision, we merged them rather than leaving both up.

How the site is funded

The site is free to use and funded by advertising. Ads, where they appear, are served on pages with substantial editorial content and are clearly separated from the calculator itself.
