How to report a data or calculation error
Accuracy errors are the messages we act on fastest, and the format of your report determines how quickly we can confirm it. If you believe a rate, a fee figure, or a worked example is wrong, please include four things: the page address, the specific sentence or table row, the value you think is correct, and a public source we can check it against.
For calculator problems, the detail that helps most is reproducibility — the amount, the two currencies, the time and date, and whether the rate loaded from the network or from the 24-hour cache stored in your browser. When we confirm an error we correct the page and update its review date, and where the correction would change a reader’s decision we add a note describing what changed. Before you write: questions our guides already answer
A large share of the mail we receive is answered in full by an existing guide, and reading one takes less time than waiting for a reply. If your question is about why your bank’s rate differs from the one online, start with mid-market versus bank rates. If it is about what a transfer will cost you, read how transfer fees stack up. What we cannot help with
We are an independent calculator site, so we cannot: quote or lock an exchange rate for a real transaction, mediate disputes with banks, card issuers, or money transfer companies, or provide personal financial, tax, or legal advice.
